DIY- Heart Bookmark

The first of our new DIY bookmarks is the simplest and easiest for you to try, so have a go and when your finished you will never have to fold the page of your book again.

Materials:
  • Ruler
  • Pen or pencil
  • 6x single paint sample cards
  • plain A4 white paper or cardboard
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Heart hole punch (any shape will do, you could even do lots of circles)

Method:
  1. Place your ruler at the end of the paper, horizontally and measure 5cm, mark with pen or pencil. Work your way down the page (short side) , measuring 5cm each time. Space each mark about 6cm apart.
  2. Rule a line connecting each of your dots.
  3. Cut along the line.
  4. Cut 1 heart into each of your paint sample cards (you should have 6 hearts at the end of this.)
  5. Space your hearts out on the strip of paper you cut earlier.
  6. Glue them to the page
  7. You may like to add some colour to the bottom of your bookmark with a texta or permanent marker.
Have fun creating many variations of this bookmark for all your books!
Have you ever created your own bookmark?
